Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I need a compass (magnetometer) for INAV?

Multirotors require a compass for Position Hold, RTH, and Waypoints. Fixed-wing airplanes do NOT need a compass because INAV calculates heading from GPS ground course while moving.

Why is my drone toilet-bowling in Position Hold?

Toilet-bowling is caused by incorrect compass alignment (cw270flip, cw180flip, etc.), magnetic interference from battery power leads, or incomplete 3D compass calibration.
